This weekend’s tag was #WHPdearphotograph, which asked participants to take an old film photograph or antique postcard from the past, hold it up against the original setting and then take a picture of it. This week we’ve been inspired by Dear Photograph (@dearphotograph) and, as a result, we’re asking you to take an old film photograph or vintage postcard, hold it up against the original setting and then take a picture of it for #WHPdearphotograph. Some tips to get you started: tap to focus on the photograph in the foreground before taking the picture, share a story or memory about the old film photograph or antique postcard in your caption and, most importantly, be patient! It may take some time to line up the photo—try moving your hand closer or further away from the object you’re shooting.

PROJECT RULES: Please only add the hashtag #WHPdearphotograph to photos taken over this weekend and only submit your own photographs to the project. Any image taken then tagged over the weekend is eligible to be featured right here Monday morning!

Spring has sprung! In honor of the recent shift to spring in the northern hemisphere, the goal this weekend is to capture photographs of flowers. Some ideas to get you started: capture a photo of your hand grasping a bouquet of beautiful blossoms, find dozens of flowers gathered together and fill the entire frame with their colorful petals, or purchase a single flower from a local flower shop and experiment with minimal still life photos.

PROJECT RULES: Please only add the hashtag #WHPflowerpower to photos taken over this weekend and only submit your own photographs to the project. Any image taken then tagged over the weekend is eligible to be featured right here Monday morning!

It’s been a week of amazing stories on Instagram. Between the heartwarming tale of an Instagram-planned engagement, an Instagram shot from the tallest building and amazing stories of hope from all over the world for World Water Day, we’re feeling particularly inspired, and we hope you are, too. The goal of this week’s project, #WHPstoryportrait, is to both take a portrait and tell a story. Grab a good friend, meet up with an Instagram acquaintance for the first time or even strike up a conversation with a stranger, then take their photo and share their story through your image’s caption.

PROJECT RULES: Please only add the hashtag #WHPstoryportrait to photos taken over this weekend and only submit your own photographs to the project. Any image taken then tagged over the weekend is eligible to be featured right here Monday morning!
