Emerald Named PANTONE 2013 Color of the Year
Pantone, the folks behind the standardized color reproduction system, has announced that the 2013 PANTONE Color of the Year is Emerald! Emerald is a vivid and rich green, often associated with the gemstone of the same name.
Twice a year the company hosts a secret meeting of representatives from various nations’ color standards groups. After two days of debate, they choose a color for the following year that helps guide future plans for fashion designers, florists, and many companies.
To celebrate the occasion, we’ve hunted down a few spectacular photos to showcase emerald’s selection. And be sure to share photographs of any great examples you may encounter with the hashtag #coloroftheyear.
