The Photo Essay Project • September 26 • New York City

The Photo Essay Project, organized by Bindu Wiles, is a 5 week coursewith photo assignments that uses Instagram & Tumblr in order to “get you progressively outside your comfort zone both photographically and emotionally.” Though Wiles is in New York City, she will be helping and inspiring participants through live web cam sessions, which will also be recorded and shared online. ACP Festival: #iPhoneography • October 6 - December 31 • Atlanta
This year at the Atlanta Celebrates Photography festival there will be an exhibition called #iPhoneography from October 6th through December 31st at Gallery 1 in Atlanta featuring mobile photography by Instagram users @konstruktivist, @_raygun, @sionfullana, @anton_in_nyc, and @koci. 1197.is • October 22 • San Francisco

According to the creators of 1197.is (full disclosure: our very own @jayzombie is one of the co-founders!) “the first camera phone photo was taken on June 11th, 1997. In honor of that date, 1197 is a one-day conference dedicated to mobile & iPhone photography, presented by Bolt | Peters and Blurb.” The conference takes place October 22nd at Mission Bay in San Francisco. My World Shared • October 22 - 23 • London

Instagram members located in London decided, over the course of several InstaMeets, to organize and curate an exhibit called “My World Shared,” which takes place October 22-23rd at the East Gallery in London. They have even launched a contest with wonderful prizes from companies like StickyGram, Instagoodies, Olloclip, Keepsy, and more!
