Every year on November 20, Mexico celebrates Día de la Revolución, or “The Day of the Revolution,” which marks the day in 1910 that kicked off a years-long struggle to overthrow dictator José de la Cruz Porfirio Díaz Mori.

The day is celebrated with parades throughout the country, the largest of which occurs in front of the Plaza de la Constitución.
