On Tuesday evening, 25 year-old Dallas Seavey was crowned the youngest musher (dog sled racer) ever to win the grueling 1,000 mile Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. The annual race is run every March from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. Mushers and a team of 12-16 dogs cover the distance in 9–15 days.
The Iditarod is the most popular sporting event in Alaska where top mushers and their teams of dogs are local celebrities. Some of our Alaskan Instagrammers were there from start to finish, bringing us a behind-the-scenes peek at the action.
