We just released a new version of Instagram in the App Store (V1.8). Here’s what’s new:
Double-tap to Like: Just tap twice on a photo to like it! You’ll see a white heart appear briefly to let you know your like was recorded.
Double-tap a photo to like it!
Autocomplete Usernames: In comments, enter @ followed by the first letter(s) of the username or display name of the user you want to mention in your comment. A list of users you follow and users who have commented on the photo will appear; the more letters you type, the more refined the list becomes. Tapping a result from that list will autocomplete the username for you, so no need to type it all out manually.
Enter @ and then start typing a username or display name for autocomplete
New Interactive Comment Screen: Tapping “comment” now brings you to a comment screen where you can see all other comments on the photo. If you want to manage comments on a photo, just tap “comment” and then the gear icon in the top right corner. You can also swipe left/right on comments to delete them.
We also made some speed and reliability improvements. This version is listed as V1.8 in the App Store and V1.18.11 in the app (tap Profile > About to find the in-app version number). Please let us know if you have any questions or run into any issues: firstname.lastname@example.org
